Catherine studied oil painting and drawing with nationally known artist Leland Beaman for 4 years, attended University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Fine Art from Western Michigan University with a major in Painting.  While enrolled at Western Michigan University, she also studied Art History at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, England for a study abroad semester.


Catherine Bauder taught drawing and painting classes at the Sullivan Munce Art Center in Zionsville and also through IUPUIā€™s Continuing Education program at the Southside Art League, in Greenwood.  She taught independent workshops through Bates Art & Design Supply Store at the Century Plaza Rd, Indianapolis store as well as plein air workshops.


In 2013 Catherine realized her dream of owning and running an art gallery to promote fine art in Indiana by opening Inspire Studio & Gallery.  In 2014 she moved Inspire Studio & Gallery to the current location on West Main Street in Carmel where she continues to teach drawing and painting classes, as well as to bring contemporary artists together with those who appreciate original art.


Over the years she has produced hundreds of portraits on commission and won many awards for paintings and drawings at art shows and competitions primarily in Michigan.  She has served on the Board of Directors for the Southside Art League (SALI) in Greenwood, as the Vice-President of the Carmel Art and Design District Gallery Association, the co-Chair of the Carmel on Canvas event, and formerly served as to Art Advisor to the City of Carmel.


Inspire Studio and Gallery owner & artist, Catherine Bauder, continues to accept commissions for portraits.  Her portraits have been featured in corporations for business executives, and as family portraits, as well as special remembrances of horses, pets, etc.
